Fiona’s Letter

Dear Ranjini,

I am so sorry on behalf of the Australian government that no one has had the decency to explain why you are currently in detention, nor would there be words to explain to your little boys, who have already suffered so much to come a free Australia. I am sorry that this is costing you the love of a good man, and that you have to go through a no-doubt much wanted pregnancy alone, in a strange place. I pledge that I will continue to follow your case, and will, wherever possible, offer my assistance.

Please be assured that the Australian population consists of more good than bad, and more love than hate, contrary to what is reported by the media. Please also be aware that the time is coming when bureaucracy is going to have to be more forthcoming and transparent in its’ decision making, particularly with reference to cases involving innocent children (and ALL children are innocent).

Depend upon the love of your children, as no one will ever love you more, and love them back as hard as you can. It will keep you strong. I want to cry for you, but that would achieve nothing. Instead, I am going to get very very angry on your behalf, and do what I can to help.

We are all sisters Ranjini, and I believe you will soon have your freedom and your life back.
Fiona
