Dear Ranjini,
I am deeply sorry that Australia has allowed such an injustice to happen to you. It angers me that anyone could be detained without trial or knowledge of their alleged crime. It goes against everything that we, as a nation, claim to value and we have failed you by allowing this policy to continue.
But while this should never have happened to you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your story has resonated in the hearts of Australians, and is becoming a symbol of the movement for justice.
We will demand your freedom, and fight for the rights of all those detained indefinately by the Australian Government. Stay strong in the knowledge that from this horrible situation, something good is bound to come.
Our thoughts are with you.
Love Alice
