Darryl’s Letter

Hello Ranjini,

I’m writing to you from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Trampling on basic human rights happens every day here. But the last place on earth I expect this to happen is my home country Australia. It is shameful that you have been in detention since 10 May. One day, even one hour in detention without any reason is an abuse of power and authority. I really hope you keep your spirits and hope up until Minister Bowen and his department fix the mess they have made. In the meantime, those Australians who care about human values and decency will continue to push hard for your release, and the release of many others held without explanation.

Warmest wishes,
Darryl
